I am running 0.9.36 and it is working perfectly except for one bug where chatroom text is not appearing at all.
I did have to add the "/end /LUA:OFF" parameters in order to make it not crash after the character selection screen. I also wiped my cache contents just for good measure.

Originally by: Moriiko Might be a noob question, but how do i apply the patch?
i have two computers, both have .39, one is nvidia the other is ati.
The ati computer is working fine the nvidia gets to where the char selection screen starts to render, then just dies.
I have No idea how to apply the patch.
any help would be very welcome :)
I just downloaded the patch from this website into my home directory, then ran it from a terminal with the following command:
Quote: wine evepatch32517-33752.exe
I ran into the same issues like the others above, where it would just die after the character selection screen. I was able to get past that by adding the "/end /LUA:OFF" parameters when starting EVE, and I also wiped my cache folder, just in case there was something wonky in there.
After that it was smooth sailing. The only issue I have left is the no text in the chatrooms that others are also having issues with as well. But I had to come to work, so I couldn't work on it anymore.
Hope this helps m8. ---

Yep, we found a fix for it and it was posted in the chatting thread. Here is the link to the post with the fix:

It is a very simple to do, pretty much have to delete a link and just replace it with a normal directory. ---

I just updated to Wine 0.9.40 from 0.9.36 using the updated package from the repositories (I run Xubuntu 7.04) and it works great.
Fixed the map, which I really appreciate, the X cursor no longer appears over the EVE cursor, and from what I could see, the icons are rendering correctly now.
All in all, it is working pretty nicely.
